District Park: Phase 3 Indoor Fieldhouse

PROJECT BACKGROUND:

In 2017, the City of Palm Beach Gardens City Council approved Resolution 38 for an interlocal agreement with Palm Beach County for a conceptual master plan to develop The Gardens North County District Park. Phases 1 and 2 of the master plan have been completed and are an enormous success. Per the interlocal agreement, the City must meet its obligation to provide an indoor recreation facility within the district park by 2028.

Previous invitations for a public-private partnership agreement with private entities resulted in those organizations being unsuccessful in obtaining project funding. To meet its 2028 deadline, the City has decided to move forward on its own with funding, constructing, and operating the indoor facility.

PROJECT SCOPE:

A City-owned, built & operated indoor field house with parking and adjacent multipurpose grassed area for play and event parking will be constructed in the Phase 3 area of the park, consisting of 14.6 acres. The project site will include 100-foot-wide buffers/preserve along adjacent roadways, 230 paved parking spaces and 584 spacing in the grassed lot. The existing nature trail will remain. Please see the conceptual rendering below.
