Has someone called you and claimed you have an outstanding warrant? Be wary, it could be a scam.
Scammers have been targeting City residents, pretending to be an official with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department. They’re falsely claiming residents will be arrested for unpaid fines and are demanding money, gift cards and/or cryptocurrency.
Some other common scenarios include:
- Demanding immediate payment of fines or fees
- Asking for your Social Security number, bank account information or credit card details over the phone
- Demanding payment through wire transfers, prepaid cards or digital payment apps
- Claiming you have outstanding warrants or missed jury duty
- Refusing to provide a badge number or supervisor contact information
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department will NEVER call you and ask for money.
If you receive a suspicious call, immediately hang up and contact the Police Department directly at 561.799.4445. Reporting the incident will help protect others in our community.
