You may see smoke near Beeline Highway today. Palm Beach County's Department of Environmental Resources Management is conducting a prescribed burn Wednesday, January 8 at the Sweetbay Natural Area near the North County Airport. The burn will cover approximately 142 acres. The Sweetbay Natural Area parking lot and public use facilities are open.
The Department of Environmental Resources Management conducts prescribed burns to enhance and maintain the slash pine forest and lower the possibility of a destructive wildfire.
