The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department's Investigations Bureau is comprised of personnel assigned to a variety of units responsible for the suppression, analysis, and investigation of criminal activity. The Bureau is supervised by Major Paul Rogers and three sergeants who manage the daily operations for the Detective Unit, Crime Scene Unit, Crime Analysis, Property and Evidence, Internal Affairs, and the Tactical Crime Suppression Team - which includes members assigned to a variety of local, state and federal task forces including the United States Marshals Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Major Paul Rogers
Major Rogers started his law enforcement career in 1996 as a Police Explorer with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department. He became a sworn officer in 2001 and has worked as a patrol officer, field training officer, and detective specializing in death and property crime investigations. In 2007, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant, where he supervised a patrol shift. Additionally, Sergeant Rogers directly supervised the Community Involvement Unit and Honor Guard Unit. In 2015, he was promoted to the rank of major and was assigned to the Administrative Operations Bureau until 2017, when he transitioned to the Special Operations Bureau. During his six years in Special Operations, he oversaw the department’s Community Involvement Unit and the Northern Municipal Regional Communications Center (NorthCom) which serves six municipalities in the North County area. In 2024, he was assigned to head the Investigations Bureau.
Major Rogers has a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management and a Master of Public Administration degree from Barry University. He is also a graduate of Session 270 from the prestigious Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy and has completed the FBI's Florida Executive Development Seminar. He has received certifications for Crime Prevention Practitioner and specialized training in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. Major Rogers is also a member of the International Chiefs of Police and the FBI National Academy Associates.
