Create Portal Account

The City’s online customer portal, Civic Access, will allow you to submit applications for various city services as well as receive approval without having to visit city facilities.  In this guide, we’ll explain how to create your account so you can begin submitting your electronic application for permits, plans, or licenses.

Navigate to the Civic Access home page (URL below) and click the Login or Register link in the top right of the screen.

2.The following notification will display explaining that the site's identity provider will be used to login.  Click Continue.create-portal-account-01b
3.Click the Create an account button at the bottom.

**Alternatively, community access provides a method for utilizing other identity providers in place of creating an account.  If you wish to use one, such as Google or Apple, click the corresponding button just above the "Unlock account?" link and follow instructions**

4.In the Create an Account window, provide your email address, password, first, and last name.  Then click the Submit button.

5.If the password you provided meets the minimum requirements, all requirements will be marked with a green check.  Click Sign Up.

6.Upon receiving the Verify with your email screen (DO NOT CLOSE THIS WINDOW), open the email inbox for the address provided and wait for the verification email to be received.  The email will look similar to the screenshot provided here.create-portal-account-05
9.Copy the code found in the email, navigate back to the Verify with your email screen, and paste the code in the Enter Code field.  Click Verify.create-portal-account-06
10.RECOMMENDED: when presented with the setup security methods screen, we recommend securing your online portal account using one of the multi-factor methods suggested.  Select your preferred method and follow the instructions provided.  
11.Once completed, click the Continue button.create-portal-account-08
12.After completing the account creation process, the browser will be immediately redirected to the city's online portal registration page.  Check the box to acknowledge the statement above and select Continue.create-portal-account-09
13.On the next page, complete all required fields and click Next.

**Even though all 3 phone fields are marked required initially, only one is required to complete the page**

14.Complete all required address fields on the final registration page and click Submit.create-portal-account-11
